I haven't raised a puppy in over 20 years. Although I've kept up my training knowledge and skills, there's always more to learn!
Last summer, I met Gail Radtke, owner and operator of Cedar Valley K9. Gail is a Fear Free Certified Professional trainer who offers group classes, private training, and behavioural consulting. I enrolled Makena in the K9 Essentials Puppy Starter classes right away.
Using positive reinforcement methods, training a puppy is fun! Along with learning manners, basic obedience, and socialization skills, Makena is also learning some fun tricks like "shake a paw" and "high five." I'm so proud of my boy!
Makena also had his first photo session. He was an excellent model! Stay tuned for his debut photos.

The article below was given to us on our first night of puppy class and has some valuable information for new puppy parents.
