Did you know that every beautiful photo you see has a hidden process behind it?
Location scouting and planning are crucial steps in creating captivating images.
When I prepare for a photo session, selecting the perfect location is a priority. I consider factors like the time of day, available light, and the backdrop desired by my clients. This groundwork significantly impacts the outcome of the photos.
Join me in reliving the magical morning I spent with Oakley, the lively yellow lab, and his wonderful humans, Katrina and Brock, at Grants Narrows Regional Park in Pitt Meadows, BC. Every tail-wagging moment of this extraordinary pet photography session revealed the genuine bond between Oakley and his humans. It was a paw-some day filled with wagging tails, muddy paws, and heartwarming moments.
Oakley: The Ultimate Adventure Buddy
From the moment Oakley bounded out of the car, his whole body was wagging, and his energy was infectious. Grants Narrows Regional Park provided the perfect backdrop for Oakley's playful antics and genuine connection with his humans. As a yellow lab with boundless enthusiasm, Oakley made it easy for me to capture the essence of what it means to be a carefree and happy canine.
Natural Beauty Meets Unconditional Love
The park itself added its own magic to the portraits. Grants Narrows Regional Park is situated on the southern shores of Pitt Lake and the banks of the Pitt River. Its serene setting and snow-capped mountains provide a stunning backdrop for a photography session. This location is very popular and can get crowded, so I find it is the best choice during the off-season October - April.
Katrina and Brock: Partners in Crime with Their Furry Friend
Oakley was an absolute delight during the session, and his humans, Katrina and Brock, were just as wonderful. They weren't mere bystanders in this pet photography adventure; they fully embraced and actively participated in the joyous chaos of capturing a lively lab's vibrant energy. Their enthusiasm and involvement resulted in beautiful memories of the three of them that they can cherish forever.
Can you Keep a Labrador Retriever out of the water?
In our quest to capture the pure essence of Oakley, we decided to attempt a rare shot without his collar - an endeavour that brought an unexpected splash of excitement to the session. True to his Labrador lineage, Oakley seized the opportunity and made a beeline for the water with unbridled enthusiasm. The moment became a delightful whirlwind of fur and laughter as Oakley, in true water-loving fashion, aimed for a refreshing plunge. Quick on his feet, Brock, Oakley's ever-vigilant human, displayed lightning reflexes, swooping in just in time to prevent the impromptu dive. The resulting image of Oakley collar-free will be a forever reminder of the fun story of the day and the spirited spontaneity of Oakley. It's these moments that remind me why I love what I do - capturing the unscripted tales of our furry companions and the bonds that make them a cherished part of our lives.
Behind the Lens: Cedar and Bark Photography's Perspective
Grants Narrows provided the perfect playground for Oakley's spirit, and our goal was to freeze those moments in time, creating a visual story that Katrina, Brock, and Oakley will cherish forever.
In conclusion, our day at Grants Narrows Regional Park reminds us of the magic that happens when pets, people, and nature come together. With his zest for life, Oakley made every frame a celebration of love and joy, reminding us of what pets bring into our lives. A big thank you to Katrina, Brock, and, of course, Oakley for letting me be a part of their adventure!
